Laboratory 2A-4

Your curiosity seizes control, but you realize that trying to wedge yourself in between two machines is asking to get stuck and be discovered. Besides, they would probably not take too well to having something jammed in between them, possibly sliding along the floor with a horrid screech or even toppling over completely, both things that would cause quite a lot of noise. So you back away, and get to a safe distance out of the center before circling around to the better hiding spot you saw from your old vantage point. Just as you get there, though, it seems like the conversation has ended. Your view is somewhat better here, and you're getting a side view rather than a front view of both of them, but the primary reason for getting this close was the conversation, and you just missed it. Resisting the urge to sigh under your breath, you continue to watch, making sure to be still and silent now.

Whatever the exchange was about, it has the catgirl grinning widely and the tall girl smirking. With only a moment's pause, the catgirl launches into an attack of the girl's unprotected sides, which results in a squeal of laughter akin to the ones you were hearing before you entered the room. Your curiosity over how the girl is being restrained is answered when she throws down the weights and starts covering her sides with her arms; clearly, she wasn't actually restrained, but trying not to move instead. A contest of wills, then. Not a contest even, more like a bet: "I bet you I won't move when you tickle me." Usually that was a line spoken by those who weren't ticklish in an effort to frustrate those who were, but sometimes a bigmouth would make a promise that his or her tail could not keep, and the results are like the one you're observing now. The weights roll across the floor, actually coming to a stop in front of your old hiding place, and you congratulate yourself for foresight. Self-congratulation aside, you continue to watch the spectacle in the middle with rapt interest.

The taller girl is quite clearly stronger than the catgirl; it's evident in the way she has hauled the catgirl off the ground by her wrists, so that her feet dangle a good two inches from the ground. However, her plan didn't seem to go beyond that point, and the catgirl's tail  has taken over, tickling up and down the girl's legs and thighs, which are hardly protected at all by those tight exercise pants. This was having the effect of making her dance, and the frustration on the big girl's face was plain; she had the catgirl in a compromising position, but lacked the third arm or extra appendage that would have allowed her to exploit the situation. Finally she just drops the catgirl and covers her sides again, starting to run for the exit. She doesn't quite make it, of course; the catgirl is on her in a flash, tickling at her sides, and when her sides are covered, moving to her rear end, then her legs, then the underarms, and the back of the neck, and generally making the tall girl dance a merry jig to the tune dictated by her fingers. You've seen the symbolism played out before many a time; David versus Goliath, in which the nimble smaller person has the upper hand over the large but unwieldy person. The tall girl is unable to protect herself very well, and the catgirl's claws make her howl with laughter; she stumbles a few times, even.

But by sheer force and willpower, the tall girl manages to make it to the door, and through it, even with the catgirl still clinging to her. You can hear her laughter still going as they leave the room, and then after a minute it all becomes silent, only the quiet whirring of the machines still continuing. There's no longer any need to  hide, but you still sneak around the perimeter of the room before you follow them and exit, there no longer being any reason to remain in here.
